The village of Zoar was founded in 1817 by German religious dissenters as a communal society and represents “an exceptional historic way of life.” Few such settlements in the U.S. are as well preserved as Zoar and have such distinctive architectural and historic features. It is of exceptional value in illustrating the heritage of our nation. Zoar is a national treasure enjoyed by thousands of Americans every year.

Crumb Topped Peach Pie

Crumb Topped Peach Pie

Yummie simple pie to make use of this Summer's abundance of fresh peaches. Got this recipe from an issue of "Taste of Home's Home-Style Recipes".
 Thought I would pass it along

1 egg white
1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup cold butter or margarine, cut into 6 piecs
6 cups sliced peeled fresh peaches

In a mixing bowl, beat egg white until foamy; brush over the bottom and sides of the pastry shell. In a small bowl, combine flour and sugars; cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Sprinkle two-thirds into the bottom of the pastry shell; top with peaches. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until filling is bubbly and peaches are tender.

Summer is Flying By

Well I have not been blogging much lately or been on any of those social networks much either. Lots of things going on this Summer and just keeping busy with life.

My oldest son started band camp and has been real busy with that and my youngest son has been busy being a little boy......fishing and always playing hard as little boys will do!!!

We have been doing really well at our booth at the Craft Mall and very happy about that. The weather has been really nice here and very hot like a lot of this great nation. Been making a lot of trips up to Holmes county in the Amish country which is always a fun time!!!
